The T&W Denim Guide

Hi Friends!

Well, with 12 years of business under our belt, we decided it might be a good time to start the blog! 😂 Why did I make our first post about denim? Because I can’t fit into any of mine and I live in them! I’ve always said, “I’m happiest in my favorite jeans”. Once you find your favorite fit, it’s like winning the lotto. The pandemic has likely changed most of our bodies, and that’s okay! Many of us didn’t even think of jeans for months on end, because our favorite sweatpants were more cozy at home. So now it’s out with the old and in with the new!

After searching for the perfect fit and price point, we found Unpublished. It's flying off of our shelves and we’re excited to launch Morrison Denim this month! Nothing says, “Hello Spring” like a great pair of Greta's paired with a feminine blouse. Denim, and a bohemian blouse, has always been my favorite look! Now let’s find your new favorite! I could probably write 10 pages on this topic so I’m going to keep it clear and to the point. I’ll talk about our best-selling styles and fit below:

High-Rise – Ladies, don’t tell me you hate them, until you give some of ours a try. I don’t buy super high-rise, it’s usually a 10”-11” max. It’s just enough to contour and flatter our womanly curves. A high waistline can make us look longer and more slender through the torso. Our Greta High Waist Culotte by Unpublished has become a best-seller that we’ve reordered in four different washes, many times over. The cropped-flare is great for Summer with a little heel, flat sandal or sneaker…and did I mention it’s under $100?

Boyfriend (AKA Mom Cut) – A new take on your classic boyfriend jean is now taking center stage, and we’re here for it. The cut is relaxed through the hips and legs, but not so relaxed that they feel baggy, like the boyfriends we’ve seen in the past. I look for a boyfriend that is relaxed, yet tapered, to flatter your body in all the right places. I love our Bobbie Slouchie Step-Dad Jean by Unpublished for Summer. Style it cuffed or keep it straight-legged with a great sneaker and cute graphic tee. Just a touch over $100 at $105. Now for our new favorite…the Sexy Boyfriend  by Morrison! Our newest brand and latest take on the classic boyfriend jean, with the perfect wash and just enough stretch that you'll want to live in them.

Mid-Rise - Our best-selling fit for those of us looking for the best of both worlds. This rise is perfect, sitting right above your waist, but low enough to feel comfortable when you sit. The Starlet by Morrison is the perfect Summer Mid-rise with a wash and fit we’re in love with. Both soft and comfortable with just the right amount of stretch, this is going to be that pair you grab for again and again. The Margaux by Unpublished has been a best-seller for months, so get one of the last pairs in stock! 

Boot Cut – Away with the skinnies, the boot cut is back! This tapered, yet roomy straight-leg style has seen a major resurgence. The Jan Jean by Unpublished is a home run with just the right amount of flare and unmeasurable comfort. We love them with a cute pair of our ShuShop Sneakers and the leg is wide enough for your favorite boots. For now, the Skinny is taking a back seat in the shops. Clingy and uncomfortable are two things you won’t be seeing at T&W! The pandemic reinforced our love for comfort and that’s the way we’re going.

What are my Summer must-haves? At least one cute pair of boyfriend denim and a high-rise crop flare, if you can only pick two! I personally try on every style we buy, so if you are limited to shopping online, just know we will guide you on fit so you don’t make a wrong turn.
